Timbuk2 was founded in 1989 by a bike messenger who taught himself to sew. In his San Francisco garage, Rob Honeycutt pioneered custom manufacturing and in doing so, created our icon, the Classic Messenger Bag.
But it was never really about bags. Rob saw Timbuk2 as a lifestyle, not a business, so he built the business to be bigger than a product and a team that was more family than workforce. He empowered customers to be partners in his process by choosing exactly what they wanted. Fast forward to today, we are still building your lifetime warranty bags, not far from that original garage in the Mission District in San Francisco.
